The Northeast Monsoon remained active along the Andhra Pradesh coast and many parts of Telangana. Moderate to heavy showers were observed over many places that were associated with strong winds. The sky remained mainly overcast and the temperature was below normal over most parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
In the past 24 hours, significant rains were recorded in Hanamkonda of 76 mm, Machilipatnam 42 mm, Nalgonda 43 mm, Nizamabad 60 mm, Bapatla 31 mm, Ongole 21 mm, Rentachintala 23 mm.
The easterlies moderate winds continue to prevail all along the Andhra Pradesh coast. Also, a Trough is extending from South Tamil Nadu to South Andhra Pradesh coast extending up to2.1 km.
Moderate rain and thundershowers at many places are expected to continue at many places of Telangana with isolated heavy spells in between. In Andhra Pradesh, mainly the coastal stations will receive moderate rain with isolated heavy spells. Places like Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Kalingapatnam, Machilipatnam, Vijayawada including Tirupati will be impacted.
Ramagundam, Mahbubnagar, Hyderabad, Nalgonda, Khammam may receive moderate to heavy rains. The activities will continue to remain over these regions for the next two to three days.
As per the experts, the Northeast Monsoon rains will remain mainly active over the Telangana region. The rains will be seen here because of the mixing of the two air masses coming from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea.
