For the last couple of days, most parts of Northeast India have been witnessing moderate spells of pre-Monsoon rains. At present, it is the only pocket to witness weather activity, while most parts of Central India are reeling under intense heatwave conditions.

In general, also Northeast India gets bestowed with good pre-monsoon showers during this time of the season and with the weather system approaching towards the region, intensity of rains is further likely to rise.

States of Northeast India like Arunachal Pradesh and Assam will be witnessing rain and thundershower activities in the next 24 hours. Rest of the region will also witness some showers but of less intensity.

This isolated to moderate spell of rainfall is expected to persist over the region for the next few days. According to Skymet Weather, this spell of rainfall can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation over Arunachal Pradesh. This system has affected the weather over the entire northeastern region. It will continue to persist over the region for at least next 24-48 hours, getting less-marked thereafter.

Although the chances of flooding cannot be expected but rainfall with thundering will bring a certain sense of chaos in the region.
