Northeast India to witness light rains; fog intensity to reduce further

The beautiful state of Northeast India blooms to its best in winters I.e between November to April. The weather across the state becomes pleasant and tourists enjoy the freshness that Northeast India has to offer.

During the last 24 hours, very light rains have occurred over a few places of Nagaland and parts of northeastern states.

At present, an upper air trough is extending from Arunachal Pradesh to Bangladesh across Assam and Meghalaya. An upper air Cyclonic Circulation is also marked over Bangladesh and adjoining parts of South Assam in the lower levels.

In addition to these systems, the cyclonic storm Phethai is present over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining parts of West Central Bay of Bengal .This system would be moving in north- northwest directions in the coming days.

After making a landfall over Andhra Pradesh coast, this system is likely to turn towards northeast directions on December 17 during night hours.

Under the influence of this system, warm and moist winds will start blowing over Nagaland and other northeastern states such as Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Sikkim and Tripura.

As this system, moves towards higher latitudes, light to moderate rain and thundershower with strong winds will affect many places of Northeast India on December 17 and 18.

Talking about the temperatures, the night temperatures will increase while day temperatures will show a significant decrease during the next 24 hours.
