In fact, occasional rain and thunderstorm activities are also experienced by northern parts of Nagaland and a few parts of Meghalaya. However, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura remain mostly dry.

As per Skymet Weather, the region has been witnessing the same rainfall pattern for the past many days. However, pre Monsoon season has already begun, hence the rain intensity and spread are also likely to increase over the states.

Usually, a cyclonic circulation persists over Bangladesh and adjoining areas. This system attracts moisture-laden winds from the Bay of Bengal resulting in rain activities over Northeast India.

As per weathermen, March began on a rainy note, however, for the past two days, Northeast India received almost no rain. Now we expect light to moderate rain activity to occur over East Assam and Arunachal Pradesh for next 24 to 48 hours.

Thereafter, Nagaland will also start witnessing scattered rains. Fairly widespread rain activities would continue over most parts of Northeast India until March 15 or 16. Moreover, the showers will be accompanied by squally winds and lightning activities also. It will be the first rainy spell in the recent times over Northeast India.

The sky conditions are likely to remain partly to cloudy. As of now the weather during the day would be warm but gradually it will become comfortable. However, the nights will continue to be pleasant.
