Northeast India to see more rains for a while

The states of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam have seen some rains in the last 24 hours. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday, Pasighat recorded 20 mm of rain, North Lakhimpur 9 mm, Dibrugarh 5 mm, and Tezpur 4 mm.

The wet spell has already begun over Northeast India and will continue for another two to three days. Northeast India is likely to have this wet spell for the next two days. Rains may be seen over parts of Nagaland and Meghalaya as well along with Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. Thereafter, we may see some rainy spells to continue over Arunachal Pradesh and Assam in the subsequent two days.

The reason for these rains is a series of Western Disturbances, remnants of these systems keep moving west to east and induce circulations over. At present, a system is over Assam and Meghalaya region as well. Feeble moisture incursion also takes place from the Bay of Bengal and the remnants of the Western Disturbances also have their own moisture.
