Northeast India to see a rainy week ahead

Northeast India was highly deficient until the second week as rains had remained absent from the region including Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Assam and Meghalaya as well as NMMT region. However, thereafter, in the third week of the month, there has been decent amount of rainfall activity over this region.

Northeast India has seen the wet spell in view of the remnants of the systems in the Himalayas which are moving from west to east. Along with this, the anti cyclone in the Head Bay of Bengal pumps a lot of moisture over these areas resulting in more rains over the region.

Thus, all the regions in Northeast India barring Arunachal Pradesh are in excess category at present due to persistent rains. In fact, rainy week is expected for Northeast India. In the beginning, rains may become scattered between March 24 and 26, while rains will be moderate by March 27 and continue thereafter.
