Currently, Northeast India was the only region that is receiving rainfall activities. Moreover, there have been some decent spells of rain in the past.
Now, with the storm Mocha in the sea and the strong circulation of the Cyclonic Storm, wind flow will be affected and easterly winds will start blowing. During this time, rains won't be seen till the time the storm is in the sea which is until May 13 as it will strike the coast on May 14.
Only around May 14 afternoon hours when the storm hit the coasts, can we expect rains over these areas. The Cyclone will observe a rapid weakening after it strikes the coastline.
Mocha will weaken rapidly after striking the coast and moving inland. Still, in that order, the northeastern states of India, covering Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland and Upper Assam, will experience adverse weather conditions between 14th and 15th May 2023.
The Northeast region's terrain is mountainous which increases complexities and precautions must be taken during the time of these upcoming rains.
