Areas of Northeast India including Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and sub Himalayan region received no rain when the rest of the country observed good rainfall. Since the last 3 weeks, Kolkata has received no rain. As a result, the temperatures in all these areas were on a rising spree. However, a cyclonic circulation, which is over Jharkhand and Bihar will cause frequent rain/thundershowers in East and Northeast India for the next 2-3 days.
A low level circulation and moisture laden winds above East and North East India will cause more rain in the region. States including Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha will get scattered rain/thundershowers over the weekend.
The Northeastern states, which have already been receiving rain for the last 24 hours will continue to get widespread rain during the next 2-3 days. Temperatures in eastern parts of Bihar have already reached near normal. Before the rain, the temperatures were running 4 to 5 degrees above normal.
Since the last 24 hours, Jharkhand, Bihar and West Bengal have been witnessing rain. The temperatures in Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal is expected to drop even further.
