North-east India had been dealing with intense flooding rains and the flood situation had only deteriorated. However, with the system forming in Bay of Bengal and wind pattern changing, rains have reduced.
Moreover, Northeast India has seen an improvement in the flood situation. The situation was critical in 11 districts earlier, but has now reduced to 5 districts. Now, light to moderate rains with isolated heavy spells may be seen in the coming days.
When the system moves further away, we can expect the wind pattern to change again. Thus, June 30 onward, rains may pick up again wherein some intense spells may be seen in many parts which may further result in a similar flood situation.
The western parts of Assam, Meghalaya, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim will be more prone to such weather activities as compared to the other parts.
