Northeast India records good rain, intensity to reduce now

February 25, 2016 5:08 PM |

Rain in Northeast India After some on and off showers, Northeast India has finally witnessed some good showers during last 24 hours.

According to Skymet Weather, scattered light to moderate was recorded over East Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Mizoram, with isolated heavy spell. While rest of the states received isolated light rain.

The rain activity has occurred on account of the cyclonic circulation over Assam and Meghalaya and a trough extending from the system up to Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.

Now, the trough is likely to become more marked from Gangetic West Bengal up to Vidarbha. Under its influence, the cyclonic circulation over the region is likely to become less marked.

With this, intensity of rain will reduce over northeastern states after 24 hours, predicts Skymet Weather. However, chances of isolated light rain cannot be ruled out.

Let us have a look at the rainfall figures recorded in span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday.
