After north, now it is turn for Northeast India to witness a prolonged spell of rains and thundershowers, accompanied with hailstorm from February 24-28. According to weathermen, series of weather systems are likely to affect the weather over northeastern states, right from Assam to Tripura.
After witnessing dry weather conditions till February 23, rains and thundershowers would start making an appearance over the region, beginning with Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
As per the weather models, a trough is likely to form from East Rajasthan to Gangetic West Bengal around February 25. With this, moisture incursion over the states would also be seen from Bay of Bengal.
