Madhya Pradesh otherwise is at a little safer distance from the main Western Disturbance which causes cold weather over northern parts. However, during extreme wintry conditions over northern parts, it also spills to Madhya Pradesh, particularly over northern parts of Madhya Pradesh i.e. Bundelkhand region including Gwalior, Guna, and Ashoknagar even coming up to Tikamgarh and Datia.
Cities that share boundaries with Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan usually see cold conditions and have also been experiencing cold wave conditions wherein Guna saw a minimum at 5.6 degrees. Single digit minimums have been seen across the state.
There may be little chance of the state seeing rains due to the wind convergence. Light rains around January 4 and 5, and that too over southern parts of the state. Cities of Betul, Khandwa, Chhindwara, and Hoshangabad may see rainfall activities during that time.
