Entire North India has been witnessing varying intensity of rainfall for the last few days.
The Western Disturbance as an upper air cyclonic circulation over North Pakistan and neighboring areas persists.
Weather in the plains of North India is also being influenced by the low pressure area North Rajasthan and adjoining areas, along with the associated upper air cyclonic circulation.
Moreover, the axis of the Monsoon trough at mean sea level is now passing through Bikaner, the centre of the low pressure area over northeast Rajasthan, Datiya, Daltonganj, centre of the depression over South Bangladesh and adjoining West Bengal and thence southeastwards to eastcentral Bay of Bengal.
During last 24 hours, Jammu and Kashmir received only light rains. Bhaderwah received 7 mm of rainfall while Leh and Qazigund received traces of rainfall. However, rains will now increase over Jammu and Kashmir.
Dharamsala received 37.4 mm of rainfall on Tuesday while Nahan received 61.7 mm. In Himachal Pradesh, Sunder Nagar also received 20 mm of rainfall.
Uttarakhand received widespread moderate showers with Almora recording 46 mm of rainfall. Mukteshwar recorded 48.4 mm, Tehri 44.2 mm, Dehradun 33.5 mm and Pithoragarh 30.2 mm of rainfall.
In the plains of North India, few parts of Punjab have received good showers during last 24 hours. Patiala recorded 51.4 mm of rainfall.
Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and adjoining areas of Punjab will continue to witness moderate rains. We could witness a little increase in rainfall activities over Delhi and adjoining areas of Haryana.
