Good rains have been seen over Northwest Indian Plains with snowfall over the Western Himalayas. These activities are expected to subside tonight. Minimums of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan have increased by 4 to 5 degrees during the last few days. Previously, cold day conditions were being seen in almost entire North India with maximum temperatures dropping to 12-14 degrees.
After the passage of Western disturbance and cessation of rainfall over Northwest India, winds will change a direction from easterly to northwesterly or northerly. These winds travelling from snow clad mountains of Western Himalayas will be cold and dry. Thus, while day temperatures will witness a rise now, minimums of Northwest India may drop by 3 to 4 degrees between February 5 and 6.
However, it may not be as punishing as previously seen, but some drop in minimums will be seen.
Skies will get clear up and sun will be out over northern plains. There may be moderate to Shallow fog during morning hours, but it will lift soon as the temperatures will start increasing.
