North Indian plains to get scattered rains over the weekend, crop damage on the cards

March 24, 2016 10:48 AM |

FeaturedA fresh Western Disturbance which is expected to hit the hills of Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh sometime tonight will produce an induced cyclonic circulation over the North and Central Pakistan.

This circulation will move towards east by March 27 allowing the room for scattered rain and thundershower activity over Delhi, north Madhya Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh and some parts of Haryana.

During this rain activity over the region, possibility of some isolated hailstorm cannot be ruled out completely.

Also during the rain and thundershower activity there will be strong surface winds blowing over the region.

These winds are not a good news for the farmers and will cause troubles as the harvest time is just round the corner. The Rabi crop which is ready for harvest will take a toll of this untimely weather activity and the strong surface winds will only add to the pain.

The rain belt will gradually move towards eastern Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand.
