North and Central India receive rain, as predicted by Skymet

As predicted by Skymet's Meteorology Division in India, the cyclonic circulation playing in tandem with Western Disturbance brought in light to good amounts of rain in North India. Entire Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, parts of Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra received rain on Friday.

Rain in India

Several stations including Srinagar, Pahalgam, Jammu and Kupwara received light rain on Friday. In Punjab, Ambala and Chandigarh received 3 mm and 0.2 mm of rain respectively. Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh received 3.8 mm while, Bikaner and Churu in Rajasthan received traces of rain.

The system has already started losing its strength and will become insignificant in the next 24 hours. Tomorrow, the remnants of the circulation could bring light rain in south Madhya Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand and adjoining areas. Some light rain is likely in extreme north Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh as well. South interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu in South India will continue to receive rain during the next two days. This weather condition in India will not reach up to the northeast region.

The Indian Meteorology condition is expected to change once again during the last few days of February. According to Skymet's Meteorology Division in India, the present cyclonic circulation over west Rajasthan will be followed by another such cyclonic circulation. The system will bring rain in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and the Marthwada region on the 26th and 27th of February.
