However, the state has been observing light to moderate showers from the past two days. As per weathermen, these are normal Monsoon conditions hovering over the state. There is barely any prospect of intense showers over Kerala in the forthcoming days and therefore, any uncertain weather event is ruled out. So, people can stay relaxed and easy.

Rain activity amidst 24 hours from 08:30 am on Tuesday is as follows: Kozhikode 20 mm, Kannur 18 mm, Alappuzha 16 mm, Kottayam 8 mm, Kochi 5 mm and Punalur 4 mm.

Now, northwesterly winds are likely to prevail along the coastline of Kerala. On that account, the existing weather pattern, light to moderate rain and thundershowers would occur over Kerala for another 24 hours, reducing thereafter.

During the weekend, we presume only light rains, in fact the intensity would be much less comparable to the next 24 hours. As on August 28, the state of Kerala has ascertained excess rains to the tune of 33%.
