The state of Gujarat usually experiences dry and warm weather during the month of March, with day temperatures settling in mid 30s.

Going by the weather pattern, most parts of the state have been experiencing hot and uneasy weather conditions since last many days.

During the beginning of this month maximum temperatures were very high over the entire state and were above normal by 7- 5 degrees. But after the passage of a Western Disturbance around March 4, cool winds from north decreased the maximum temperatures by 3- 4 degrees, leading to marginal relief from the ongoing hot weather. However, this relief was short lived.

At present day temperatures are above normal over all the districts of the state. Few places in Kutch and Saurashtra region are above by 5- 7 degrees such as Dwarka, Kandla Naliya and Okha.

On Tuesday, Ahmedabad recorded its maximum temperature at 35.1°C, Amreli 37.0°C, Bhuj 37.0°C, Idar 36.4°C, Kandla 36.3°C, Rajkot 36.8°C, Surat 36.8°C, Bhavnagar 35.6°C, Baroda 36.4°C, Naliya 37.2°C, Dwarka 35.4°C and Okha 32.0°C.

Now a cyclonic circulation has developed over West Rajasthan and cool winds from north are replaced by warm winds from the west and southwest. With this, minimum temperatures would now witness a rise during the next 24 hours.

Now we expect marginal changes in day temperatures over the remaining parts of the state as well. Therefore, we can say that relief from uneasy weather is not in sight in Gujarat.
