Peninsular India including Kerala has been receiving good showers for the past few days. Kerala did not perform well during the Monsoon season this year but now the state seems to be recovering the losses.
As of now, the upper air cyclonic circulation over Kerala and adjoining Lakshadweep persists. We can also see an upper air cyclonic circulation lying over southwest Bay of Bengal off Tamil Nadu Coast.
During last 24 hours, light to moderate rains occurred over some parts of Kerala. Few places over the state also saw heavy showers with Kottayam recording 83 mm of rainfall.
Angadippuram weather station in the district of Malappuram also received 40 mm of rainfall. In Palakkad, Ottappalam received 44.8 mm, Pattambi 40.2 mm and Thrithala 21.2 mm of rainfall.
Konni lying in the district of Pathanamthitta received a whopping 106 mm of rainfall.
Skymet Weather predicts that the cyclonic circulation over Kerala will shift gradually towards the eastern direction and finally merge with the circulation near the north coast of Tamil Nadu.
Tomorrow, Kerala will receive fairly widespread moderate rainfall activities. One or two places in Kerala could receive heavy showers as well. In fact, rains will continue over Kerala for the next few days.
