Flood situation in Jammu and Kashmir remains grim, as weathermen predict more rains in offing. Incessant rains have been lashing most parts of the valley, pushing Jhelum river to flow well above the danger mark.
On Thursday, personnel of Indian Army along with National Disaster Rescue Force (NDRF) had rescued several people who were struck in flooded areas. They are still on standby as not much improvement is seen in the weather conditions.
According to Skymet Weather, light to moderate rains and thundershowers are likely to continue for another 24 hours, In fact, higher reaches of the region will also record more spells of snow.
The only relief is the fact that the intensity of the weather activity will not be as intense as it was during the last 24 hours.
