No relief from hot weather in Mumbai, Maharashtra

February 18, 2017 1:42 PM | Skymet Weather Team

Mumbai and parts of Maharashtra continues to reel under extremely hot weather conditions. In fact, places such as Dahanu, Ratnagiri and Mumbai have been witnessing above normal temperatures by 7-9 degrees.

As per the meteorologists, the feel factor is way too much across the coastal areas as compared to others. Being close proximity to the sea, levels of humidity remain high over these regions and this combined with high temperatures lead to unbearably hot weather.

According to Skymet Weather, hot weather continues to grip the state as warm inland winds are blowing interruptedly across the region. These easterly winds are blowing from adjoining states Madhya Pradesh and Telangana, which are already witnessing above normal temperatures.

Further, scorching weather conditions will continue for at least another 24 to 48 hours. Maximum temperatures will settle appreciably above normal by 5-8 degrees.

However, we can expect some relief from February 21, as warm winds will be replaced by cool winds from northeast direction.

Let us have a look at the maximum temperatures across Maharashtra on Friday.
