Due to prolonged dry spell, heat wave conditions have been prevailing in parts of Madhya Pradesh for the last many days. However, a drop has been noticed in the temperatures of the eastern and northeastern districts of the state, leading to abatement of heat wave conditions from here, during last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, scattered light rains have been recorded over western and extreme northeastern parts of Madhya Pradesh such as Ujjain, Indore and Satna. Though, these rains were light and patchy, these have helped in lowering down the temperatures by 2℃ to 4℃.

The drop in temperatures has resulted in the abatement of heat wave conditions over the eastern parts of the state such as Satna and Sidhi. Despite light rain and drop in temperatures, heat wave condition has remained the dominant factor in Ujjain and Indore, during the last 24 hours. Likewise, heat wave has remained a prominent factor in the southern districts such as Betul and Hoshangabad, while places such as Gwalior, Datia, Nowgaon, Khajuraho and Jabalpur have not seen a respite from heat wave since the last one week.

According to Skymet Weather, the weather of entire Madhya Pradesh is expected to remain dry in the coming days. However, due to easterly winds over the northern districts, temperatures will remain under check.

On the contrary, West and South Madhya Pradesh would not see any respite from heat wave to extreme heat wave conditions for some more days.
