Pre-Monsoon season of 2022 witnessed prolonged dry and hot weather spells for Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Heat wave to severe heat wave conditions were witnessed over many parts of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and parts of Saurashtra and Kutch. Eastern parts of Rajasthan received occasional showers, but they failed to give any long-term relief.
Conditions have not improved during the month of June either. Since the beginning of June, dry and hot westerly and north-westerly winds are blowing across these states leading to gradual increase in temperatures. Parts of Rajasthan is notorious for extreme hot weather. Temperature can go up to 50 degrees in parts of Rajasthan. Places like Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh and Churu are capable to breach 50 degrees.
We do not expect any relief from ongoing hot and dry weather for at least next one week. Dry winds from west will continue. Western Disturbance will be feeble, it will have no impact over Northwest or Central India. Monsoon although is moving with a faster pace, it will have no impact on these states either in change in wind direction or increase in pre monsoon activities.
