Heavy rains continue to lash the state of Bihar with three-digit rains being observed in the last 24 hours, worsening the flood situation in many parts of the state.
In the last 24 hours from 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, the city of Bhagalpur recorded 93 mm of rain while the state capital Patna witnessed 92 mm of rain. Meanwhile, Gaya recorded 21 mm of rain.
Torrential rains continue over many parts of Bihar and more than half the state of Bihar is submerged. The city of Patna, in particular, is submerged in 6 to 8 feet of water.
Rescue and relief operations have also become quite difficult for the NDRF teams due to such massacres over the state.
Now, Bhagalpur, Purnea, Araria, Supaul, Kishanganj, i.e. the Eastern districts of the state of Bihar will see moderate to heavy rains today. By tomorrow, a significant decrease in rainfall activities is expected to be seen.
Nevertheless, as water continues to flow above the danger levels in Ganga and its tributaries, it will take a while for the water to recede from the entire state.
Thus, for the next few days, no significant relief is expected in terms of water levels. Rains will see a reduction by tomorrow which will result in aiding the rescue and relief operations.
