No PM-KISAN cover for 5 years for land bought after Feb 1

As announced in the government’s interim budget, now any person purchasing cultivable land, will not be eligible for the benefits under assumed income support scheme for the next five years.

As per basic details of PM-KISAN scheme, only those whose names appear in land records as on February 1, 2019 will be eligible for all the benefits under the scheme.

Union Agriculture Secretary Sanjay Agarwal explained the process and mentioned even though the scheme’s benefits will be allowed beyond cut-off date of February 1, 2019, in case of transfer of ownership of cultivable land due to succession.

A new purchaser who might bought his/her land after the cut-off date, will not receive RS. 6000 annually for the upcoming five years. A detailed guild line on the whole will be released after the combining suggestions.

On the other hand, under the scheme, each of the small and marginal farmers will get Rs. 6000 annually in three different installments of 2,000 each in the period of every four months by the central government.

Moreover, for the same, Aadhar may be an optional way for getting their first installment. But with time it will be compulsory for the beneficiaries this unique identification number.

The ministry will also soon set up an exclusive portal for the scheme in which all the states and UT’s will be required certified district wise list of the payees.

This database will consist of basic details of landlords such as name, gender, SC/ST status, Aadhar number, bank account and mobile number.
