No More Disrupting Rains In Bengaluru, Pleasant Weather Conditions Likely

September 8, 2022 1:22 PM |

Bengaluru witnessed rough weather conditions during this week disrupting communication and connectivity. The silicon city was waterlogged and inundated in some parts due to persistent and unprecedented heavy downpour. Most lanes and streets turned in to water channels, paralyzing normal life.

Commuting was hit badly as the roads and tracks were incapacitated. Good news that, recovery and rehabilitation can be undertaken without and hinderance. Weather will not play spoilsport during retrieving operations, at least for the next 10 days.

The capital city and suburbs received light to moderate showers yesterday, during the evening and night. The city observatory measured mere 4 mm of rainfall, taking the monthly total to a record 271mm, way above its monthly normal of 208.8mm. Having such a deluge in just one week of September remains unequalled on records.

A dual weather system in the proximity of the South Interior Karnataka strangulated most parts of the region, including Bengaluru. The cyclonic circulation over the region has shifted northward. Bengaluru and suburbs will be largely relieved and may receive light to moderate showers today. The intensity and spread will reduce further tomorrow.

Later, partly cloudy sky with sunshine during the day is expected, for the subsequent 5-6 days. Abundant rains have left plenty of moisture in the air and pleasant conditions are likely during the evening, night and morning. Afternoon could be slightly warm but the mercury not likely to breach 30°C mark.

Northern half of South Interior Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka will receive moderate to heavy showers today. Rains will be scanty for South Interior Karnataka tomorrow but North Interior Karnataka and the coastline will continue to witness moderate to heavy showers.

Chitradurga, Davanagere, Shivamogga, Dharwad, Gadag, Ballari, Belagavi, Raichur and Uttar Kannada will be at risk of witnessing inclement weather conditions for the next 2 days.
