No major weather interruption in sight for Surajkund Mela

Thanks to Haryana Tourism Department, Delhiites get to enjoy the rustic and ethnic side of our country thanks to the Surajkund Mela held in Faridabad. The Mela stated in the 1987 and is celebrated with the perfect weather conditions of neither hot nor cold winters. From February 1 to February 15, the Mela is held at Faridabad sitting adjacent to Delhi.

Themed on the state of Jharkhand, this year’s Mela will provide a rare opportunity of the handicrafts, handlooms, performing arts, cuisine and tourist potential of Jharkhand.

The weather for coming 15 days seems nice. Sunny and warm weather will continue throughout the duration of the fair with just one minor instance of rain. An active Western Disturbance is expected between February 3 and February 5 over Western Himalayas. During this time sky may become partly cloudy and light rain, thundershowers are expected on February 5.

February 5 happens to be the first Sunday of the Mela which will entice more people to show up for the Mela. So for the people planning a visit there on February 5 should carry an umbrella. Though, only light rains are expected over the region. Even the chances of rains are likely to happen during the early morning hours.

Dense fog will not be seen during the course of Mela but moderate fog may make a comeback on February 6-7, even then the visibility will improve by 10 O’clock.
