Western disturbances usually start affecting Western Himalayas from the month of October and continue until March. We have not seen any strong Western Disturbance until now.
A moderate intensity Western Disturbance approached Western Himalayas in second half of October and have given moderate snowfall over Jammu and Kashmir and parts of Himachal Pradesh. Three feeble Western Disturbances have approached in November. Third one is still going on.
Hills are still waiting for a strong Western Disturbance which may give heavy to very heavy snowfall right from Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh to Uttarakhand. We do not anticipate any such strong weather system for at least in next 10 days. Next Western Disturbance will be around November 20.
Therefore, cold winds from North will continue over northwest and Central India between November 15 and 20. These cold winds will be responsible to bring down maximum and minimum temperatures across Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh part of Gujarat and Maharashtra.
Single digit minimum all possible over parts of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan by weekend.
