The hill states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand have witnessed good Monsoon rains this year. Some weather systems have also triggered good rains over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Monday, good rainfall activities were witnessed over the hills of the western Himalayas particularly Himachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand. The reason behind these rains was the formation of Cyclonic Circulation over North Punjab and the western disturbance travelling across the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

Some scattered rains also occurred over Jammu and Kashmir. Moderate to heavy rainfall activities were seen in Uttrakhand. Places like Tehri recorded 50 mm of rain, Shimla in Himachal Pradesh received 19 mm of rain, Dharamshala 8 mm, Jammu 10 mm, Srinagar and Banihal recorded 6 mm of rainfall each. Dehradun in Uttrakhand has been receiving moderate to heavy rains since last one week but during the last 24 hours, Dehradun recorded 17 mm of rain.

Today, we expect scattered light to moderate rainfall activities in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand. The weather would start clearing up from tomorrow. The sky would remain partly cloudy with isolated light rains which would continue until October 3.

Thus, we can say that the weather would be pleasant from tomorrow onwards, so this would be the ideal time to visit these places.
