No heavy rains for Northwest India in the coming week

Most parts of Northwest India are almost dry for the last week or so. Started rain occurred over northern parts of Rajasthan as well as over parts of Haryana and Delhi. Southern districts of Punjab and western districts of Haryana are almost dry. If we talk about Delhi, the national capital has also not recorded widespread rain.

The axis of the monsoon trough is oscillating north and South over Indo-Gangetic plains. But due to lack of moisture feed rainfall is scanty. Now there are chances for the axis of the monsoon trough to move further north over the foothills of the Himalayas. There may be isolated light rain over Eastern districts of Rajasthan for another 24 hours thereafter weather will go completely dry over the entire Rajasthan.

Northwest Rajasthan is still waiting for heavy rainfall as Sri Ganganagar, Hanuman, Jhunjhunu, and western parts of Bikaner are still rain deficient. Chances of the revival of monsoon over West Rajasthan seem to be bleak for at least the next 10 days. The impact of El Nino will be felt over most parts of the country including Rajasthan during the month of August.
