No heatwave likely in first half of April

With rains being observed over most parts of the country, it seems like heatwave is not to make a comeback. Northwest India have had some rainy spell which was a continuation of March. This will suppress the rise of temperatures.

However, in the next one week or so, only the hills will see activity with only minimal activity in the plains. However, the residual effect of excess rains will not let the temperatures spike.

As far as Northeast India is concerned, rainfall activity will continue which means no temperature rise there as well. For Central parts, Maharashtra, parts of Gujarat and adjoining areas may see some rains which will not let the maximum temperature rise.

South India will also see some rains on an on and off basis. Rayalaseema will see hot weather conditions but their usual temperature during this time is around 39-40 degrees, thus, heatwave only comes when maximum is well above the normal levels.
