No heat wave over Delhi during next week

Parts of Delhi have witnessed heatwave conditions between April 15 and 18. Temperatures have dropped during the last 48 hours and they are now below 40 degrees. Parts of Delhi in NCR recorded rain and thundershowers with isolated hailstorm activities on April 20. This sudden spell of rain and thunderstorm dropped the temperature by 7 degrees in a span of 30 minutes between 6:30 and 7:00 pm on April 20.

Weather will become dry now but isolated thunderstorm activity cannot be ruled out during evening hours. There may be gradual increase in temperatures but temperatures are not likely to cross 40 degrees for at least next 3 to 4 days. There are chances of isolated thunderstorm with light rain on April 23rd and 24th as well.

Monthly average rainfall in the month of April for Delhi is 12.5 mm. Delhi has already recorded 8.2 mm rain until now. We have to wait and see if monthly average can be surpassed in the coming days or not. Maximum temperatures of Delhi NCR will start increasing once again after April 25th. There are chances of isolated heatwave conditions by end of next week.
