Nizamabad, Nellore, Ongole, Kakinada to get light Monsoon rains

July 29, 2017 6:58 PM | Skymet Weather Team

Since last few days, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have been receiving good Monsoon rains and showers. Due to which, the temperatures have also reduced a few notches. However, the intensity of these Monsoon rains is more over Andhra Pradesh than compared to Telangana. As Telangana has been foreseeing cloudy weather conditions since the last 24 hours.

In a span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, Kakinada 39 mm, Vijayawada 27.4 mm, Machhilipatnam 15 mm, Ongole 13.4 mm, Hyderabad 6.2 mm, Nizamabad 2.8 mm, Hanamkonda 2 mm and Nellore 1.4 mm.

The reason for these Monsoon rains over Andhra Pradesh and Telangana can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation developing over West Central Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh Coast. Due to this weather system, light to moderate are expected to occur at many places over Coastal and northern districts of Andhra Pradesh during the next 24 to 48 hours.

However, Telangana will continue to see cloudy weather conditions. Due to a cyclonic circulation over the state, eastern districts of Telangana may also witness few spells of light rains and thundershowers. With the effect of these rains, the temperatures are likely to drop further. Already most of the regions have seen a significant drop in the day temperatures.
