Temperatures in Rajasthan has been witnessing a scaling trend from the last couple of days. In fact, in last two to three days, minimum temperatures have observed a significant rise of  5-8°C as compared to their normal. Maximum temperatures have also seen a rising trend, settling 2-3°C above normal.

The sudden increase in temperatures over the land of kings can be accredited to the formation of an induced cyclonic circulation in the wake of an active Western Disturbance which was over Central Pakistan and adjoiningRajasthan.

As per Skymet Weather, whenever, an active Western Disturbance approaches the Western Himalayas, it normally induces a cyclonic circulation over Central Pakistan and adjoining Rajasthan which is at present the case.

However, as of now, the Western Disturbance is moving away eastwards and the induced cyclonic circulation has also become insignificant. This would result in temperatures to drop.

In fact, a few regions have witnessed plummeting temperatures in last 24 hours as well.Barmer, Udaipur, and Jaisalmer have recorded minimums settling 3 degrees below normal whileBikaner, Pali, and Sri Ganganagar have seen temperatures plunge 4 degrees below their average normal. Mount Abu, on the contrary, was 5 degrees below the normal level in last 24 hours.

Moreover, due to the shift of Western Disturbance, the state is likely to observe a change in the wind pattern as well. The warm and humid southerly winds are expected to change into dry and cold northwesterly.

This would further result in the drop in minimums which may settle near or below normal paving way for warm and sunny days along with cool and comfortable nights. The temperatures are expected to plunge more in West Rajasthan as compared with East Rajasthan.

The similar weather pattern is likely to persist in the state for another 48 hours. Thereafter, temperatures in Rajasthan are expected to pick up the pace again.
