Next rainy spell in Delhi NCR likely around July 30

During the last couple of days, the city of Delhi has experienced light to moderate spells of rains and thundershowers. Due to the presence of Monsoon clouds, the day temperatures remained at comfortable level. Isolated places have even managed to receive good spells of rains and thundershowers.

Presently, a Cyclonic Circulation is present over Northwest parts of Madhya Pradesh and adjoining parts of East Rajasthan. This system is extending up to 5.8 kms. The western end of Monsoon Trough which was close to South Delhi is now shifting Southwards. Hence, the rainfall activity will decrease slowly.

Now, the day temperatures are set to increase. Also, fresh and moist easterly winds will flow continuously over the Delhi and NCR region. Due to availability of local moisture and presence of Cyclonic Circulation in close vicinity of the region, scattered places of Delhi and NCR might experience light spells of rains and thundershowers for some period. Otherwise, the weather will remain mainly dry.

Today, the day’s maximum temperatures are likely to remain above 33 degrees over Delhi NCR while the night temperatures will remain between 25 to 26 degrees.

During the next couple of days, i.e. on July 29 and 30 the weather will remain dry and warm. Humidity will prevail.

The next spell of rain and thundershower will be starting from July 30 onward as the western end of axis of Monsoon Trough would be shifting Northwards. Till then dry weather is likely to continue.
