Next 48 hours to bring light rain and thundershower over Punjab and Haryana

During the last 24 hours, dry weather conditions persisted over both the states of Punjab and Haryana. Temperatures have recently shown a dip in these states as winters lie ahead. In the last 24 hours, minimum temperature in Amritsar was recorded at 12.2°C, Patiala 10.9°C, Chandigarh 11.7°C, Ambala 13.2°C, Karnal 11.4°C, Gurgaon 11.3°C and Faridabad remained at 15.3°C.

If we talk about the weather systems, a Western Disturbance now lies over North Pakistan and Jammu & Kashmir region. Its associated induced Cyclonic Circulation lies over East-central parts of Pakistan. Both these systems would be further moving East-Northeastwards in the next 24 hours and will affect the weather persisting in Punjab and Haryana.

Due to the presence of these systems, the sky condition will remain partly cloudy to cloudy during the next few days in both the states of Punjab and Haryana. Light rain and thundershower activity is also expected at some places after 36 to 48 hours over the states. As moisture content will increase, shallow to moderate fog would reduce the visibility during early morning hours.

There is a possibility of rise in day temperatures due to the clouding situation. The pollution will continue to remain in higher levels.
