The city of Bengaluru has received three spells of rain in the month of November, one was between November 1 and 3, another on 14 and 15 and thereafter, the third one on November 21 and 23.

Presently, dry weather conditions are prevailing over the city since last five days. Although night is cool and pleasant, and day is a little warm with bright sunshine.

According to Skymet Weather, easterly winds had gained strength over Tamil Nadu coast which has increased the rain intensity over the state. Now, we expect the rains to commence over South Interior Karnataka as well. But we don’t expect much activity over the Bengaluru city. However, some isolated light rains may occur over parts Bengaluru during the next 24 hours. Another spell of light rain is possible between December 4 and 5.

Until now, Bengaluru has remained rain deficient during the Northeast Monsoon. If we talk about Bengaluru Rural, this area was deficient by 28 percent, with actual rainfall to the tune of  165.6 mm of rain against the normal of 224.1 mm.

Bengaluru Urban have even more grave statistics as it is deficient by 52 percent. It received just 101.5 mm against the normal of 211.4 mm.

During the next one week or so, we do not expect any moderate to heavy rains over the city. This indicates that the rain deficiency is only going to increase over Bengaluru. Therefore, we can say that Northeast Monsoon is not turning out to be a good one for the city.
