Since last 24 hours, many areas of Nepal have been experiencing heavy to extremely heavy rainfall activities. The reason for these torrential rains over the state can be attributed to the axis of Monsoon trough which is seen running close to the foothills of Himalayas. Due to this, heavy to extremely heavy rains may continue to occur over Nepal and adjoining areas.
In a span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday,Surkhetrecorded 168 mm of rainfall, followed by Simra airport by 121 mm, Bhairawa airport 118 mm, Dhangadhi 100 mm, Dang 82 mm, Nepalgunj airport 72 mm andDipayal14 mm.
Simultaneously, due to this increasing effect of these torrential rains over Nepal, they may lead to flash floods like situation over northern districts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

Moreover, due to the topography structure of the terrain, these heavy rains may wreak havoc for the residents of North Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
With the presence of the axis of Monsoon trough over the foothills of the Himalayas, these heavy rains along with very heavy showers at one or two places may continue to occur over Nepal for the next four to five days.
Furthermore, this trough is likely to move towards South leading to a slight relief from these continuous torrential rains over the state and eventually will suppress the flood like situation over the foothills of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
