Northeast Monsoon lashed south coastal parts of Andhra Pradesh during the first week of November. The rain intensity reduced over the state marginally. In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Friday, most parts of Andhra Pradesh failed to witness any rainfall activity.

However, a fresh spell of rain and thundershower are likely over the southern coastal parts of the state. The intensity of rain over the southern coastal parts will be moderate to heavy. While some interior parts of south coastal Andhra Pradesh will witness light showers.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, a low-pressure area is prevailing over southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Sri Lanka coast. Along with this, an associated upper air cyclonic circulation is also extending up to 5.8 km above sea level. At present, northerly northeasterly winds are also blowing over the state.
In wake of these combined weather systems, moderate to heavy rain and thundershower with isolated very heavy rain is likely places such as over Chittoor, Cuddapah, East Godavari, Guntur, Krishna, Nellore, Prakasam, Srikakulam, Vishakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and West Godavari between November 12 and 17. Along with hefty showers over the region, strong gusty winds reaching up to 45 kmph and moderate lightning strikes are likely to affect.
