Nashik has been receiving on and off rains since the beginning of July. While rains remained light in nature during the first three days, Nashik recorded a whopping 84 mm of rainfall on July 4. Since then, the city has been receiving light rains only.
However, rains have once again picked up pace and Nashik has recorded good rains. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Nashik recorded 79 mm of rainfall. These rains have helped the city surpass its monthly rainfall in a mere 10 days.
These rains can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation which is currently over central parts of North Madhya Pradesh and its adjoining
So far, Nashik has recorded 196 mm of rain against its monthly average of 189.9 mm. Last year, rains in July were rather poor and the city had only recorded 116.7 mm of rainfall in the entire month. This year, rains in July have been good and with twenty more days to go, Nashik is expected to record even more rains in the coming days.
Now, during the next 24 hours, light to moderate rains will continue over Nashik. These rains are likely to keep the temperatures under check.
