There seems no respite from the continuously prevailing dry weather conditions across Maharashtra. Almost the entire state is under the grip of dry and warm weather condition for the last many days.
Madhya Maharashtra region is also reeling under dry weather conditions that have led the temperatures to rise and reach beyond the normal levels. The absence of rains has led the maximums to settle 4 degrees above normal in most parts of Madhya Maharashtra.
The cities like Ahmednagar has witnessed the maximums reaching to 37.7°C which is 4 degrees above normal. Jalgaon and Solapur had also recorded the daytime high settling a few notches above the normal levels and breaching the 35-degree mark.

As per Skymet Weather, dry weather is expected to prevail over Madhya Maharashtra region. The temperatures are also likely to remain above the normal levels. However, Skymet Weather predicts a formation of a lower level trough extending from South Central Arabian Sea to Madhya Maharashtra region. This trough is expected to become prominent after 48 hours.
Moreover, a confluence zone due to the amalgamation of warm and moist winds from the Bay of Bengal and comparatively cool and moist winds from the Arabian Sea. This may result in thundershowers over the area around February 23 and 24. The regions that may get affected by thundershower activity are Ahmednagar, Jalgaon, and Nashik. On the other hand, Pune would remain warm.

As the thundershowers are in the forecast, farmers in Madhya Maharashtra are recommended to complete harvesting of matured Rabi crops well before time. They are also advised to harvest matured fruits of Pomegranate, Sweet lime, Orange and Grapes to minimize losses. Farmers should store harvested field produce to the safer place
