The state of Maharashtra has had a good Monsoon season this time. So much so that the month of July ended on a good note. During the last 24 hours as well, good Monsoon rains have been recorded over the region.
Nashik is one city where good Monsoon rains have been observed during the last two to three days. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Nashik received a good 34 mm of rain. These rains can be attributed to the Monsoon surge which is currently active over Konkan and Goa region. A feeble cyclonic circulation which is over Gujarat is also enhancing Monsoon rains over the interior parts.
While coastal areas have been receiving heavy to very heavy rains, rainfall activity is only light to moderate over the interior parts of Maharashtra. Now, during the next 24 to 48 hours, good Monsoon rains are in the offing for the state of Nashik.
The month of July was quite good for Nashik as the city received a whopping 482.4 mm of rain against its monthly average of 189.9 mm, which happens to be the all-time highest rain in July. Last year, the city had received a mere 116.7 mm of rainfall in the month of July. Hopefully, August will also bring some heavy rains over the city.
