Many parts of the state of Maharashtra have been witnessing good rains for the past few days. In fact, a few areas have also witnessed a few heavy spells in the past two to three days.
While Coastal Maharashtra has witnessed heavy to very heavy rains, the Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada have observed good rainfall activity. However, the rainfall intensity over Vidrabha region has been on the lower side.

During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday, good rains were witnessed over many parts including Pune 56 mm, Aurangabad 40 mm, Mumbai 19 mm, Ratnagiri 14 mm, Akola 10 mm, Parbhani 4 mm, and Matheran 3 mm.
These rains have occurred over the state as the Monsoon surge is currently active over the state giving good rains over many parts. Along with this, a cyclonic circulation is over the East Coast due to which moisture incursion has increased over the region.

Now as per weathermen, more rains are expected to continue over the coastal areas of the state, along with Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada. Both Mumbai and Pune which have already been witnessing a few good spells of rain are expected to witness some good rainfall during the next 24 hours. Meanwhile, Vidarbha region will only observe light rainfall activity.
