Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi who is on a three nation visit to France, Germany, and Canada has reached Hanover and is on the second leg of his tour. In Germany, Modi will seek the country’s assistance for the ‘Make in India’ campaign. Modi’s stay in Germany is three-day long and the weather is expected to remain hot wherein the maximum temperature will remain in the low 30s. Presently, Western Europe is enjoying spring sunshine without any kind of weather activity in the area.
Narendra Modi will meet the German Chancellor Angela Merkel along with a few German business leaders. He will also meet a few German companies and invite them to invest in the 'Make in India' initiative. The main focus of the trip is technology and business. Modi along with Merkel has inaugurated the ‘India Pavilion’ of the Hanover Messe, which is the world’s largest trade fair where around 400 Indian companies have put their products on display. At the fair, Modi unveiled the Make in India logo, which is a lion.
The Indian Prime Minister is on a nine-day tour of three countries and has already spent three days in France. Further, on April 14, Modi will fly to Canada where the weather will remain cold throughout his visit. In 42 years, this is the first stand-alone Prime Ministerial visit to Canada.
After attending a diaspora event in Ottawa, Modi will travel to Toronto for a reception hosted by the Canadian Prime Minister Harper. He will also visit the Air India memorial in Toronto. He is scheduled to travel to Vancouver where he will interact with the Indian community. Also, Modi will visit a Gurudwara and the Laxminarayan temple.
The main objective of Modi’s tour is to deepen, diversify and alleviate the country’s engagement across a wide range of fields and to take concrete steps towards strengthening bonds with other countries.
