Since last few days, the Southwest Monsoon remained weak over most parts of Maharashtra. Only Konkan & Goa regions of Maharashtra have been receiving continuous light to moderate rains. The weather conditions over Maharashtra and adjoining areas is likely to remain warm and humid for the next 24 hours. Though these scattered light rainfall activities are expected to occur over parts of Vidarbha and Madhya Maharashtra.
However, on and off light scattered rainfall activities are expected to occur over parts of Vidarbha and Madhya Maharashtra regions after 24 to 48 hours. But Marathwada will continue to remain dry for another few days.
In the span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Harnai recorded 109.6 mm of rain, followed by Ratnagiri 36.5 mm, Vengurla 28.2 mm, Bhira 26 mm, Alibag 20.1 mm, Dahanu 20 mm, Thane 17.2 mm, Gondia 7.4 mm, Mahabaleshwar 2.6 mm, Mumbai 1.3 mm, Wardha 0.6 mm, Parbhani 0.5 mm and Kolhapur 0.1 mm,
At present, Konkan & Goa is rain surplus by 3%. Madhya Maharashtra by 12 %. Marathwada by 1%. While Vidarbha continues to remain rain deficient at 24%.
According to Skymet Weather, a cyclonic circulation is persisting over Maharashtra and adjoining areas across Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. Due to this, rainfall activities are likely to increase over Maharashtra and adjoining regions. With this, Vidarbha may continue to receive good showers between July 14 and 15. The rainfall intensity over Konkan & Goa region may also increase by July 15.

The western districts of Maharashtra such as Pune, Ahmednagar and Jalgaon may record some good spells during the next 24 to 48 hours. While rains over Mumbai is likely to pick up a pace.
Meanwhile, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada will continue to reel under subdued Southwest Monsoon conditions for the coming few days.
