The state of Maharashtra particularly Vidarbha, and Marathwada region have been reeling under very warm and dry weather conditions have been prevailing over the region. Maximum temperatures have been witnessing a significant rise since the last 24 hours. So much so that the region has been recording the mercury levels settling close to the 40-degree mark as well.

Yesterday, the maximum at Parbhani settled at 39.9 degrees Celsius, Solapur 40 degrees, Wardha 39.5 degrees, Nagpur 38.7 degrees, Chandrapur 40.4 degrees, Bramhapuri 39.3 degrees, Yeotmal 39 degrees, Akola 39.3 degrees, and Jalgaon 38.6 degrees Celsius.
The mercury levels before this were settling either close to the normal levels or even slightly below the normal levels. However, now, northwesterly winds are blowing over the entire state of Maharashtra. These winds are warm and dry in nature therefore, temperatures have remained on a rise over all these areas and are expected to further increase only.
Cities of Nagpur, Gondia, Akola, Amravati, Nanded, Parbhani, Ahmednagar, Mumbai, Chandrapur, Wardha and Yeotmal will witness increasing maximums which will further result in discomfort over all these areas.
Thus, no relief is in sight over the entire state of Maharashtra and residents will continue to see sky high maximums in the coming days reaching 40 degrees and going even beyond it at times.
