For the last one or two days, the weather is dry over most parts of Vidarbha. However, some very light rains were seen during the mid-week of March. These rains were of a short duration and thus, were just able to give a short-term relief from the rising mercury.
Soon the weather became clear and dry and the temperature began rising again. At present, most of the stations in Vidarbha are reeling under very high temperatures, with the mercury levels soaring close to the 35-degree mark or even above.
However, some relief is anticipated during the next few days, as rains are likely to make an appearance. As per Skymet Weather, due to possibilities of the formation of a north-south trough, scattered rain and thundershowers are expected to commence over many parts of the region around March 20-21.

In the wake of this cloudy weather and chances of rains, the maximum temperatures are likely to register a marginal drop. Thereafter, as the trough would start weakening, the rain activity would also stop, and the weather would start clearing up by March 22 onwards.
