MUST WATCH: South India rainfall forecast until December 10

The first cyclonic storm of the season has finally formed and has been named as Ockhi. The weather system has the potential of intensifying into a severe cyclone during the next 24 hours. The system will move towards Lakshadweep Islands due to which torrential rains are possible over the region during the next 24 hours.

Not only this, the cyclone has already begun to batter the southern parts of Kerala and Tamil Nadu with torrential rainfall. In fact, hefty showers have also been witnessed in many areas of Kanyakumari due to which four people have been killed.

These hefty rains are expected over the aforementioned areas during the next 24 hours. However, rains will witness a decrease thereafter.

However, another low pressure which is in Andaman Sea as of now is expected to move in a west northwest direction towards Tamil Nadu. The system also had the potential of intensifying into a cyclonic storm around the latter part of the first week of December.

Thus, the system will give heavy rains over parts of Tamil Nadu including Chennai as well as Kerala and some parts of Karnataka between December 3 and 7.
