The depression which was brewing in the Bay of Bengal while it was rendering heavy Chennai rains has undergone further intensification to become a deep depression. The system currently lies about 120 km south-southeast of Nellore in Andhra Pradesh. The system is expected to move in a northeast direction along the Andhra coast. The weather system will then move northwards before it recurves to the northeast direction away from the Indian coast.
Gradually, the weather system is expected to intensify into a cyclonic storm during the next 24 to 36 hours. However, as the system has moved away from Chennai, the residents of the region can finally heave a sigh of relief as the Chennai floods 2015 has not been replicated. Check out the animated path of the probable cyclone which is likely to skirt the Indian coast without posing any damage to the country.
