The deep depression over Southeast Bay of Bengal has intensified into a cyclonic storm Nada on Wednesday afternoon.
At present, the cyclone is steadily moving in west-northwest direction towards the Tamil Nadu coast. The system is expected to cross the south of Puducherry near Cuddalore by the early morning hours of December 2.
Due to this weather system, light to moderate rain and thundershowers may occur over the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu including Chennai by Wednesday evening. Rain will intensify significantly and fairly widespread moderate to heavy rains likely to lash parts of Tamil Nadu on December 1 and 2.
